Foundation repair in Inez, Texas
Foundation inspections and repair for Inez, a fast-growing community northeast of Victoria near the Jackson County line.
Inez is an unincorporated community about fifteen miles northeast of Victoria on Interstate 69/U.S. 59 at State Highway 444. Its population grew from 2,098 in 2010 to 2,641 in 2020, and the census-designated place covers almost 60 square miles. It began as Arenosa, named for Arenosa Creek, and took its current name in 1882 when the New York, Texas and Mexican Railway arrived; the railway's president, Joseph Telfener, named it for his daughter.
Newer homes on bigger lots
With its population up about a quarter in ten years and spread over a large area, Inez has plenty of homes on bigger rural lots, many of them slab-on-grade. Larger lots mean more choices about where the house pad went and how water leaves it. On flat ground, a pad that isn't built up enough, or a driveway that sends runoff toward the garage, can keep one side of a slab wetter than the rest.
What contractors look at here
- How high the house pad sits above the surrounding yard
- Where roof and driveway water go, and whether it reaches a ditch
- Trees and fence lines close to the slab
- Septic and water lines near any area to be excavated
Permits outside city limits
Inez is outside Victoria's city limits, so the city's building permits don't apply. Victoria County requires a floodplain development permit for development in a mapped floodplain, so check with the county if your property is in a flood zone.
